- Oh, hey there! My name is Bentley, and I joined the adoptable kitty crew at Providence Animal Center through their affiliate shelter Francisvale. (Don't worry, all cats were harnessed in the making of these photos 😉.) I have been living it up with my paw-some foster parents. They've made sure I've been on a strict diet and routine to help me with a few aspects of my life. Clearly, I want to work on my beach body. I was diagnosed with Diabetes a few years ago. Thanks to routine and dietary changes, I've gone into remission and have been insulin-free for 2.5 months! Isn't that cat-tastic?! It means I no longer require daily medication. I am approximately 11 years old and 11 pounds of handsomeness. I absolutely love to be around people; in fact, they're my favorite, but I also get along with other kitty friends. I love head-butting, making biscuits and getting good chin scratches. If you looked up the definition of "lap cat," you would find a picture of me. - Banana Bread was found roaming the Florida streets for food when she and her 5 puppies were found. They are called the Breakfast Club because they all have breakfast food names! This darling momma dog is estimated to be around 4 years old. She is sweet and energetic but also has a calm side. While she didn't love riding in the Rafferty Rescue - maybe because she made a very long trip north - she was a good sport for it. Hey there! My name is Riley, and I'm so pleased to meet you! I recently made the journey from an overcrowded shelter in Florida to Providence Animal Center, in Media, because I just wasn't quite ready to retire yet. I make my adoption debut this Saturday, at PAC's #ClearTheShelters Event, starting at 11am! The best part? My adoption fee, along with all other pet's adoption fees, will be 80% off on Saturday only! I am approximately 3 years young and 77 pounds of handsomeness. That's right, I'm a gentle giant! - Hiya! My name is Bucky, and I can guarantee you that I'm the sweetest dog you'll ever meet. I recently arrived at Providence Animal Center from a local overcrowded shelter. As you can see, I was not treated the best in the past, but I know that my future will be brighter than ever, filled with all the laps that I can sit on and all of the faces that I can lick! Please don't let my look fool you, I am a giant teddy bear. I recently came to Providence Animal Center from a local overcrowded shelter and I was in need of lifesaving surgery. Although my friends aren't sure what happened to me, they knew I had an irreparable injury, and would have a greater quality of life as a tri-pawd. That means I am now three-legged!I may need some extra time to get the hang of it, but my friends assure me that I'll be hopping and skipping in no time. - Why, hello there! My name is Jojo (tan), and this is my best friend forever Timbo (white/grey)! We recently found ourselves at Providence Animal Center, and are patiently waiting for our happily ever after…together! Our friends at PAC are all so nice to us, and set us up with a temporary foster home! While we were there, our foster family got to know so much about us - it was great!
They say we are super friendly and warm up to new people right away. We get along great with each other and other dogs! In fact, we love each other so much that we must stay together. They call us "bonded", and we love the sound of that! We walk well on the leash, and love a leisurely pace that allows us to appreciate the scenery.

- Why, hello there! My name is Crawford, and it's a pleasure to meet you. I recently made the journey from an overcrowded shelter in Georgia, to Providence Animal Center in Media, where I hope to meet my forever family. Maaaaybe…that could be with you?! I am approximately 54 pounds of handsomeness, 4 years young, and ready to start my next big chapter!
My favorite things include playing with tennis balls, hanging out with my human friends, and being outside! - Hi, howdy, hello! My name is Jimmy Chew (FKA Dipper), and it's a pleasure to meet you. While I am currently spending my days having tons of fun with friends at Providence Animal Center, in Media, I think I'm ready for the real deal - a forever home!
I am approximately 2 years old, and 40 pounds of handsomeness! You may think a dog as dashing as me is quite serious, but my friends all say I'm an "entertainer" at heart, and always make them laugh! While I am known for my playful and goofy character, I am also known for my shyness. Because I like to take meetings super slowly, I am looking for a calm, quiet, adult-only home where I can take my time getting to know my forever family!
My favorite things include romping around outside, toys, and playing with my doggy pals at PAC! Because of this, my friends know I could go home with the right four-legged sibling. That's right! With the proper introductions, I may be able to live with a feline friend as well!

- Hello friends! My name is Zoey, and I'm a new arrival at Providence Animal Center, in Media. I recently made the journey north from an overcrowded shelter in Florida, where I was lucky to be rescued from because I needed life-saving surgery. My right hind leg was removed due to a fracture, and I've never felt better thanks to my friends at PAC!Some may call me an underdog because I'm starting a whole new, three-legged chapter at 8 years old. I'm here to prove them wrong because I am a spunky gal who can learn new tricks, and I'm already getting the hang of this "tri-pawd" lifestyle! - Why, hello there. My name is Francesca! I'm a sweet 8-year-old lady, coming in at 13 pounds of adorableness. I was found abandoned, wandering a highway in Georgia, in need of lifesaving medical care. I found my way to Providence Animal Center, where I was able to get surgery to remove a protruding eye, which will prevent future infection, as well as urgent care for skin allergies and dental disease. Boy, was I a mess! But I'm all fixed up, now.Thanks to all of the love and care I received from my friends at PAC, I was able to focus on showing off how lovely I am in the Rafferty Rescue. Although I am so cute and tiny, going on walks with one-eye can be intimidating for me (after all, I have half the vision of most other dogs!), and I can be shy when meeting new people. Being a homeless older pet with one eye makes me an underdog, but I'm capable of giving so much love and life to one lucky family!Dogs of all shapes and sizes and even some you may call "special needs," like me, are waiting at Providence Animal Center to meet you. - Hello, hello, hello! It's so nice to meet you! Our names are Forrest, Prezi and Trek, and sometimes we are lovingly referred to as the "Rafferty Kittens" by our friends at Providence Animal Center. Why, you ask? That is because the wonderful folks at Rafferty Subaru were the ones that found us and provided us the best chance at happily fur-ever after by handing our care over to the lifesavers at Providence Animal Center!The story goes a little something like this: we were three motherless kittens that had been abandoned at the Rafferty Subaru dealership in Newtown Square. One of us was waiting outside of one of their cars, while the other two went undiscovered in the engine of the car (don't worry - this is a happy ending!). After the trip from Newtown Square to a home in Malvern, we made tons of noise, so that they would find all of us! After being found safe and sound, we were transported to PAC and have since been benefiting from a loving foster home.We are nearly 8 weeks old now, and will be ready for our next chapters soon! - Well, hello there, friend! My name is Myrtle, and I am approximately 4 years old and 58 pounds of cuteness. I arrived to Providence Animal Center from an overcrowded shelter in Georgia, and have been benefiting from a loving foster home ever since. While I love my foster family very much, I am truly ready for my forever home. Could that possibly be with you?!Here's a little bit about me so you can decide: my favorite places to nap are in my dog bed and under tables. When my family is home, I tend to cuddle up close to them! They say I am a "cuddler" who "gives great kisses," and I'll be sure to extend that love to my forever family as soon as we get to know one another. I am still gaining confidence, and I like to take things slowly with new people. This is because I have partial vision. - What's your favorite candy bar? Mine would definitely have to be a Snickers bar, hands down! So what better name for a sweet guy like me??I came to Providence Animal Center thanks to the humane law enforcement officer here. Unfortunately, I was found tied up in a park and abandoned. I am super handsome, friendly, and loving, so I'm not sure why someone left me all alone. But now I am looking for a fresh start in a loving fur-ever home.I have been able to benefit from staying with a loving foster home for a while who has nothing but great things to say about me...aww shucks! I am the best of both worlds - I love to go on walks and play but can be a snuggly couch potato at the end of the day. My foster family says that I love everyone I meet from neighbors passing by on walks to my 2-legged foster siblings. They report that I am house-trained. I met some other dogs during my time at the center and I could potentially live with the right doggie roommate. - Hi there, my name is Tiny! I am a 1-year old Georgia native. True to name, I don't know my own size - I'm 82 pounds of pure goofiness! I get so excited to see my friends at Providence Animal Center that I just want to hug them! Dogs too, as you can see. I would love for an adult family to have experience with big pooches like myself and continue the training that my friends at PAC have started. I may be cute, but I'm not all looks - I love to learn! - Oh, hiya! My name is Batman. I'm Providence Animal Center's current resident superhero and sweetheart. I arrived at PAC a few weeks ago needing emergency medical care after I was struck by a moving vehicle. My friends have taken such good care of me, and I just know I will be ready for a future filled with nothing but joy soon! I needed lifesaving surgery due to my leg injury, which has made me a tri-pawd. That just means I can romp and play with three legs now! I didn't mind getting into a car with my most trusted friends, but I did need a little boost on the way up. My favorite things include hot dogs and playing fetch! I just LOVE tennis balls and rope toys. My friends are still learning all there is to know about me, and making sure my leg and heart are fully healed before I am available to adopt. My friends, the essential staff at Providence Animal Center, have been giving me a lot of one-on-one attention and love. In return, I am letting them learn all about ME! - Hello, hello, hello, hello & hello! We'd like to introduce ourselves as the famous "Shrimp Puppies." Why is that our litter name? Our momma is named Shrimp, and we were given matching names - Coconut, PoBoy, Lejon, Popcorn and Scampi! We were born in a loving foster home on Leap Day, bringing us just over 5 weeks old, which means we still have some growing to do before we're ready for our own forever homes. In just a short amount of time, we have experienced so much joy, but nothing tops what we were able to accomplish this week: we visited ManorCare, a local nursing home, and said hello to all of the residents by practicing #socialdistancing from outside of their windows! Seeing the smiles on their faces and their hands waving excitedly was so, so special! One of the highlights of our trip was riding in the Rafferty Rescue car. You can tell by our faces, but we were so excited to be taking a ride to bring a little joy to others. Our friends at Providence Animal Center were even able to transport a ton of PPE from PAC to be donated to our new friends at the nursing home. How awesome is that?! - Providence Animal Center donated PPE and offered some puppy love to a local nursing home in need on Monday.Under the new restrictions of providing only essential medical care, Providence Animal Center's veterinary services have scaled back to only life-sustaining services, and therefore the regular amount of supplies are not currently needed. PAC's adoption center is currently closed to the public but they hope to launch a remote adoption procedure this week in order to offer adoptions from foster care. Hi! Hello! Howdy! My name is Andy, and I'm so excited to meet you! I'm hoping to charm you with my good looks and personality so that we can become family - wouldn't that be nice?! I'll start off by saying I'm a spirited 8 years old. I know you may think I'm slowing down, but that's simply not true. I have a ton of pep in my step, and years of love ahead of me! They say good things come in small packages, and I have to agree (and not just because I'm 13 pounds of adorableness). I came to Providence Animal Center from ACCT Philly, a local overcrowded shelter, and am happily spending time with by besties here until the day you come to get me arrives! Something I'd like you to know about me is that I need time to trust. But, can you blame me? Shelter life is ruff. I expect my future family to take it slow with me. My friends at Providence Animal Center say I get my name from my demeanor because I can be as quiet as a … MOUSE! I am happy to relax with my friends in a quiet room, getting treats and attention. Why, hello there! My name is Princess. I am approximately 4 years old and 33 pounds of adorableness. Petite, cute, sweet … what more could you ask for?! Well, I'll tell you what else you'll get: A BFF to relax with, a partner to go on long walks with, and a companion for life. After traveling all the way up the coast from Georgia, I am patiently waiting for my forever family while in good company at Providence Animal Center in Media. I think it's very important to be open with each other about our needs. You know what they say - communication is key! I'll start - I am a pretty shy gal, and need lots of time and space when meeting new people before I feel comfortable being myself. I am looking for a forever family that will honor my needs, and be patient and supportive of my efforts to acclimate to so much newness once I'm adopted! This acclimation period will ideally involve structure & routine, nice treats, positive interactions and a crate to use as my safe space. - The "Rafferty Rescue" Subaru Outback is used by the Providence Animal Center to transport animals up for adoption from overcrowded shelters, as well as shuttle pets to meet and greet events with potential owners. The rescue vehicle also serves as a mobile veterinary clinic and supports daily wellness check-ups for certain animals. The rescue vehicle also transports pets to local schools and senior centers, and may be seen at local fundraising events. Rafferty Subaru has always been committed to having a positive effect in the community and showing love and respect to others, including our furry friends. Rafferty Subaru is excited to team up with Providence Animal Center, an organization whose work we admire, to find homes for animals in need. - PACT for Animals Purchases Transport Vehicle at Rafferty Subaru

- PACT for Animals is a 501(c) 3 organization that provides foster care for animals when their owners are deployed or dealing with medical emergencies requiring hospital care. Buzz Miller, founder of PACT for Animals, chose to purchase a Subaru from Rafferty Subaru in Newtown Square, PA thanks to a donation earmarked to PACT for an animal transport vehicle. Buzz Miller learned from Major General John Gronski that many soldiers were forced to surrender their pets to area shelters before leaving on deployment. Many in his command were leaving for dangerous areas around the world, volunteering to serve their Country. Sadly, no animal welfare group was available on a volunteer basis to offer foster care for their "best friends" when all other avenues for foster care had fallen through. PACT steps in when there is no other option than to surrender a pet to a shelter. PACT volunteers step up to offer long-term temporary foster care from a month to as long as two years at no charge, opening their hearts and their homes to companion pets. Pets are kept safe until their owner's emergency has passed, and they can be reunited with their families. - Rafferty Subaru Sponsors Run for the Day Marathon

- On Saturday, June 23rd, 2018, Rafferty Subaru sponsored the Run for the Day marathon at the Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square, PA. All proceeds went directly to the Coaches vs. Cancer program of The American Cancer Society. The goal of this event was to celebrate cancer survivors, to remember and honor those we lost, and FIGHT BACK against this illness. Cancer hits too close to home for many people, and Rafferty Subaru helped to fight all kinds of cancer, for everyone, in every community. The Raffertys love to stay involved and give back to their local community. When they heard about the marathon, they immediately decided to sponsor the event. The Heroes vs.Cancer is an offshoot of Coaches vs. Cancer. Norm Stewart, a former head coach of the University of Missouri's men's basketball program, a cancer survivor, and a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), had the initial vision of the concept. Eventually, the idea evolved and soon the Coaches vs. Cancer program was formed, becoming a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the NABC.

- Rafferty Subaru supports the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation. Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation is a charity that works with local auto dealers to secure new winter coats for children in the Delaware Valley. The program has been in effect since 2008 and has donated a total of 177,858 coats. Rafferty participates in the "Driving Away the Cold Event", donating coats to children in need in the Philadelphia area. During the month of September for every car we sell, we donate a new winter coat. This promise is in conjunction with 172 other dealerships in the region and the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation. Rafferty Subaru is proud to participate in a foundation that offers the gift of a new coat to children in need. During the coat drive, Rafferty's showroom is covered in little "Bobby's and Cindy's". These are the children that are behind the forming of the foundation. Each customer, who buys a vehicle, signs one of the "Bobby's or Cindy's" to hang in the showroom. Our customers find this to be a wonderful addition to their newly purchased vehicle!

- Rafferty Subaru was a proud sponsor of the 89th annual Radnor Hunt Races on May 18, 2019. The Subaru Outback and Ascent were used as pace cars for the event. The Radnor Hunt Races, a long-standing tradition in Chester County, provide fun and excitement to all, from tailgating and parades to fancy hats. The proceeds from the Radnor Hunt Races benefit clean water and open space programs of the Brandywine Conservancy in Chadds Ford, PA. Over 63,000 acres are preserved to date.

- Rafferty Subaru is proud to partner with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Eastern PA Chapter (LLS) to spread hope and warmth to cancer patients at Paoli Hospital. The Rafferty team, along with the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of LLS, delivered blankets, arts and crafts kits, and personalized messages of hope to those fighting cancer at Paoli Hospital on several occasions. Rafferty's generosity was warmly received by the Paoli Hospital staff who were thrilled to distribute these comforting gifts to their patients. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world, provides free information and support services, and is the voice for all blood cancer patients seeking access to quality, affordable, coordinated care. On May 9th, Rafferty Subaru presented a check for $21,487 to the organization, whose mission is to provide compassion in moments of need; recognizing opportunities, and inspiring both those who give and those who receive. Through a variety of annual events and programs, Partners in Outreach collects donations and supplies for neighborhoods with few or limited resources. Ranging from school supplies to clothing to gear for summer camp, these goods are used to connect communities with resources to communities without them. Opportunities for success are generated for individuals throughout the entire Philadelphia area.

- On May 9th, Rafferty Subaru presented a check for $19,298 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) of Eastern Pennsylvania. As part of the largest organization dedicated to finding a cure for blood cancers, the LLS spearheads countless fundraisers and research projects that go toward finding a cure for these diseases. Not only does this non-profit work tirelessly to discover new and effective treatment options for individuals fighting these illnesses, but they also strive to improve the quality of life for patients, family and friends going through treatment as well as raise awareness about these diseases.

- Rafferty Subaru and Main Line Animal Rescue Host Pet Adoption Events

- For the last three years, Rafferty Subaru has worked with Main Line Animal Rescue (MLAR) to bring animals available for adoption or rescued into Rafferty's showroom. MLAR volunteers provide information about the adoption process and how individuals can help MLAR. Donations of food, blankets, and money are always welcome. This past November, when MLAR came to visit, it was a dreary, rainy Saturday morning. The dogs and cats brought in their own sunshine and fun, hoping to find a new "fur"ever home. It was wonderful seeing customers interact with all of the animals. Customers brought in their rescue dogs to visit us too! Animal Planet sent us doggie flashlights, collapsible water bowls, magnets, and doggie litter bags to give away. It was a time for old friends from previous events to reconnect and share amazing stories about their pets (everyone expressed how much the animals love Subaru). - Rafferty Subaru Supports Providence Animal Center During “Share The Love” Event

- Rafferty Subaru was proud to support Providence Animal Center as one of their charities during the "Share The Love" event in the 2018 holiday season from November 15, 2018, to January 2, 2019. To kick-off the "Share The Love" event at Rafferty, the dealership promoted awareness of homeless and abandoned animals by hosting an adoption event at their dealership on November 17, 2018. Rafferty donated all adoption fees for animals adopted on the 17th. During the "Share The Love" event, customers who purchased a new Subaru had the choice of donating to one of the national charities and one of the local area charities selected by Rafferty Subaru. Rafferty has participated annually in "Share The Love" events over the past 10 years. The Subaru dealership won the 2018 Subaru Love Promise Customer and Community Commitment Award and is nationally recognized for their dedication to customers, their community, and to the Subaru Love Promise. As a participating retailer, Rafferty helped donate more than $118 million to charity, with customers choosing between four national foundations and two local foundations. For the past three years, Rafferty chose Providence Animal Center as one of their local charities to donate. The Providence Animal Center offers life-affirming rescue, medical care, treatment, protection and placement of companion animals that forever uphold the critical importance of the human-animal bond. The Center strives to deliver the most optimal, advanced care to our animal friends and their owners.

- Rafferty Subaru Hosts E-Waste Recycling Event

- Throughout the month of April, Rafferty Subaru hosted an E-Waste Recycling Event in our store to collect unwanted electronics including LCD Monitors, Cell Phones, Laptops, Tablets, CRT's up to 40 inches, Video Games/Consoles, Fax Machines, DVD/VCR Players, Printers, Computer Peripherals, Switches/Routers, Cords and Wires. We worked with a company who responsibly collects, re-purposes, and recycles your electronic waste. Rafferty Subaru would like to thank our customers for participating in the event. With your help, we were able to prevent 12,497 lbs of carbon emissions from polluting the atmosphere. This is equivalent to saving 479 trees, 2,125 gallons of gasoline, 18,117 plastic bottles, and 83,334 aluminum cans. Thank you for helping to strengthen the Subaru Love Promise!

- Rafferty Subaru participated in the "Loves Learning Initiative" during the month of August. We partnered with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in donating science books to Paxon Hollow Middle School and Marple Newtown High School in the Marple Newtown School District. With more than 120,000 members and some 250 affiliated societies and academies of science, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) serves as an authoritative source for information on the latest developments in science. AAAS seeks to advance science, engineering, and innovation throughout the world for the benefit of all people. By nurturing students' scientific interests and talents, AAAS programs provide exciting opportunities and help build bridges to careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. All of the books donated have been recognized by AAAS as some of the best science books in their field.

- Rescue Pet of the Week

- Rafferty Subaru loves animals, and we actively promote awareness of homeless and abandoned animals by showcasing a "Rescue Pet of the Week" on our Facebook page. All of these pets deserve to be in a "Fur" ever home. Rafferty Subaru partners with the Providence Animal Center to find homes for animals in need. At the Providence Animal Center, lifesaving work happens every day. The Center offers protection and placement of rescued, neglected, and relinquished pets, delivering compassionate and advanced care. Rafferty Subaru is committed to having a positive effect in the community and showing love and respect to others, including our furry friends. - Rafferty Subaru Driving Shelter Dogs in Cars Video Featured on National TV

- On Thursday, January 5, 2017, Rafferty Subaru's video, Driving Shelter Dogs in Cars, was featured on an episode of the nationally televised program Right This Minute. Rafferty Subaru teamed up with our friends at 6 ABC to give adorable pups from Providence Animal Center and Main Line Animal Rescue, who are waiting to find their forever homes, a day to remember. Dogs loves a nice car ride, which is why Rafferty Subaru decided it would be fun to chauffeur shelter dogs around town in a brand new Subaru Outback. Mosby, Daisy, Meggie and few other friends enjoyed a day out on the town in style with the wind in their hair. All of the dogs featured on our Driving Shelter Dogs in Cars series and many more lovable friends are available for adoption at Providence Animal Center and Main Line Animal Rescue. As Our Love Promise to our Local Shelter, we have also had adoption animals here in the Showroom to be Adopted from time to time.
