  • Here is the Rafferty Pet of the Week: Smoke

Hi, hey, hello! My name is Smoke, and I am an incredibly handsome fella who just made the trip from an overcrowded shelter in Georgia to Providence Animal Center, in Media! I really love all of the sights and smells in PA so far, and I'm so excited to continue exploring the world around me with my forever family! I just haven't met them yet. Until I do, I'll be hanging out with my new friends at PAC, enjoying all of the treats life has to offer (especially the cheese)!

While I have your attention, I'm going to lay down some Southern charm in hopes that we're meant to be. I am just over 1 year old, so I am still learning how to be a happy-go-lucky dog! I love treats, taking long walks, and meeting new people! Although I am full of puppy enthusiasm, I am also pretty polite. I greet people with a sniff and take treats gently. I could be your next road trip buddy because I loved getting in the car, and putting my nose out the window! What do you think?! Schedule an appointment to meet me at ProvidenceAC.org/AdoptADog.

    Tails wags and nose boops,
    Smoke

  • Here is the Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Emmy!

Why, hello there! My name is Emmy, and I'm on the lookout for my forever people. Maybe that could be you?! I'm approximately 2 years old and nearly 40 pounds of adorableness. I recently made the trip from an overcrowded shelter in Florida and am now spending my days with friends at Providence Animal Center, in Media! While I love the friends I've made here dearly, I'm ready for something "fur-ever." Here's a bit about me: I'm incredibly sweet when meeting new people! I love "adventure boxes," which are enrichment tools used at PAC. Basically, they stuff treats and peanut butter into boxes, which I get to eat once I can work my way to it! Awesome, right?!  It's a great way to exercise my mind. I walk well on the leash, and don't mind getting in the car. If you think we'd go together like PB&J (mmm, peanut butter), schedule an appointment to meet me at ProvidenceAC.org/AdoptADog. I just can't wait to meet you.

    Tail wags and sloppy kisses,
    Emmy

  • Here is the Rafferty Rescue POTW: Precious

Hello, world! If you open up a dictionary to the word "Precious," there I'll be. Precious in name and character! I'm a new arrival at Providence Animal Center, in Media, after making the journey from an overcrowded shelter in Florida. That's right - I'm not ready to retire yet! I'm approximately 7 years young and 60 pounds of adorableness. I know my forever family is out there … Maybe it's you?! Here's a little bit about me to see if we'd be a good match:

I love treats, gentle head pets and going on walks! My friends at PAC say I walk well on the leash and happily hopped in the car to pose for these photos! I think I'd get along with people of all ages, but I'd sure love to meet the whole family first! Schedule an appointment to come see how totally amazing I am at ProvidenceAC.org/AdoptADog. I just can't wait to meet you!

    Tail wags and sloppy kisses,
    Precious

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Tammy

Why, hello there! My name is Tammy, and it's sure nice to meet you. I am approximately 1 year old and 33 pounds of adorableness! I recently arrived at Providence Animal Center in Media from an overcrowded shelter in Georgia in hopes of meeting my forever family. I think some people may overlook my sweetness because I have a stoic and serious face, but my friends at PAC all think it's charming! Their love and praise is helping me to feel more at ease in such a new place.

I am still quite shy and scared, so I like to take introductions with new people slowly. If you give me gentle pets, you're sure to see my tail start wagging! I met a few doggy friends since arriving at PAC, and I loved them! I could live with the right doggy sibling, and would love it if they were confident, because that could help me come out of my shell. I walk very well on the leash, and didn't mind hopping in the car, either. My friends all say I'm pretty perfect, and I hope you agree! If you think I'm your match, schedule an appointment to meet me at ProvidenceAC.org/AdoptADog.

    See you soon,
    Tammy

  • Rafferty Rescue Underdog of the Week: Sophia

Hello there, my name is Sophia! A beautiful name for a beautiful gal, don't you agree?! I'm the #underdog of the week because, although I'm small and adorable, I'm also 10 years old and am looking for a loving family who want to provide me a comfortable home to retire to.

Senior dogs are the best! I can prove it. I walk nicely on the leash, love getting treats and getting in the car (as you can see)! I'm already used to so many sights and sounds, so you could say I'm "move-in ready!" I've definitely got a pep in my step, and a lot of love left to give. I just need a family who will be willing to love me, no matter how much time I have left.

If you think you could offer me an awesome retirement plan, I'm all (floppy) ears! Head to ProvidenceAC.org/AdoptADog to schedule an appointment to meet me, and all of my adoptable doggy friends.

    See you soon!

    Tail wags,
    Sophia

  • Rafferty Rescue Underdog of the Week: 3-legged Zoey!

Hello friends! My name is Zoey, and I'm a new arrival at Providence Animal Center, in Media. I recently made the journey north from an overcrowded shelter in Florida, where I was lucky to be rescued from because I needed life-saving surgery. My right hind leg was removed due to a fracture, and I've never felt better thanks to my friends at PAC!

Some may call me an underdog because I'm starting a whole new, three-legged chapter at 8 years old. I'm here to prove them wrong because I am a spunky gal who can learn new tricks, and I'm already getting the hang of this "tri-pawd" lifestyle! I hopped right in the car without any problems when posing for these beautiful photos. Impressive, right?!

Some differently-abled pets may need something extra from their families, but it doesn't mean they have less love and life to give. I just know I'm going to impress my future family with all I've got, which will hopefully be soon since I am headed to the Rafferty Subaru Loves Pets Adoption Event, where all adoption fees will be sponsored by Subaru and the ASPCA!

If you're looking to add a four- (or three-) legged companion to your family, you can check out all of my doggy friends, currently available at Providence Animal Center: https://providenceac.org/adopt/dogs/.

    Tail wags and doggy kisses,
    Zoey

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Spike

Hi there. It's so nice to meet you! My name is Spike, and, despite my tough name, I am a huge sweetie pie. I'm just over 1 year old, 54 pounds of handsomeness, and recently arrived at Providence Animal Center, in Media, from an overcrowded shelter in Georgia. That's right - I'm a Southern gentleman!

I've made a ton of friends at PAC so far, but I'm confident that I'm ready for my forever home. I sure hope that home could be with someone as great as YOU!

My favorite things include car rides, playtime and tasty treats! My friends at PAC all say that I'm very energetic because I'm just out of puppy-hood, so I would benefit from living with an active family! Need a hiking buddy?! Aside from being active and playful, I'm very friendly and love meeting new people. I'm also known for giving pretty great hugs!

I just know I could be one lucky family's #1 Good Boy if given the chance, and I'm so excited to give it my all. If you would like to learn more about me, head to ProvidenceAC.org/pets/Spike, and then, if you like what you read, you can schedule an appointment to meet me at ProvidenceAC.org/AdoptADog.

I sure can't wait to meet you!

    XOXO,
    Spike

  • Rafferty Rescue Underdog of the Week, Francesca!

Why, hello there. My name is Francesca! I'm a sweet 8-year-old lady, coming in at 13 pounds of adorableness. I was found abandoned, wandering a highway in Georgia, in need of lifesaving medical care. I found my way to Providence Animal Center, where I was able to get surgery to remove a protruding eye, which will prevent future infection, as well as urgent care for skin allergies and dental disease. Boy, was I a mess! But I'm all fixed up, now.

Thanks to all of the love and care I received from my friends at PAC, I was able to focus on showing off how lovely I am in the Rafferty Rescue. Although I am so cute and tiny, going on walks with one-eye can be intimidating for me (after all, I have half the vision of most other dogs!), and I can be shy when meeting new people. Being a homeless older pet with one eye makes me an underdog, but I'm capable of giving so much love and life to one lucky family!

Dogs of all shapes and sizes and even some you may call "special needs," like me, are waiting at Providence Animal Center to meet you. Head to ProvidenceAC.org/Adopt/Dogs to check out just a few and then schedule a doggy matchmaking appointment at ProvidenceAC.org/AdoptADog. Remember: dogs with physical disabilities may need something extra from you or your home, but they have just as much, if not more, love to give as other homeless pets.

    Tail wags and nose boops,
    Francesca

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Nicky

Oh, hi there! My name is Nicky, and I am a sweet adult fella who became a part of Providence Animal Center's adoptable doggy crew when my previous family could no longer care for me. There has been no shortage of love and attention since I have arrived, and I've made a ton of new human friends during my stay! It's true that I am making good memories with them, but I feel I am ready to settle down into my new forever home. Perhaps that could be with you?! Allow me to introduce myself a bit better - I am 6.5 years old, and 50 pounds of handsomeness! Don't let my grey face fool you - I have a ton of life and love to give!

My favorite things include car rides (as you can see), and slow, leisurely walks where I am able to appreciate the sights and smells around me. My friends at PAC all say I'm a "breeze on the leash," and very relaxed outside! They say I'm sensitive, and would like to live in a calm and quiet home, with children ages 8+, and as the one-and-only four-legged friend. Do you think we could be a match? Learn more about me here: ProvidenceAC.org/pets/Nicky and schedule an appointment to meet me if you think we're meant to be!

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Sally

Hi there! My name is Sally, and I recently joined the doggy crew at Providence Animal Center after making the journey from an overcrowded shelter in Georgia. I am approximately 6 years old and 40 pounds of cuteness! Don't let my age deter you - I have a pep in my step that could make anyone crack a smile!

I really love meeting new people - especially when they give me chin scratches! Those are just the best. Some of my other favorite things include: going on leisurely walks outside and cozying up in a comfortable spot. My friends here at PAC all say I'm sweet as can be, and would make a fabulous family companion. I could even live with the right dog sibling because I'm such a nice girl myself! If your ideal night is staying in, lounging on the couch, and watching your favorite movie - I'm your gal!

You can learn more about me here: https://www.providenceac.org/pets/sally/ and schedule an appointment to meet me, and my doggy friends, at ProvidenceAC.org/AdoptADog.

I just can't wait to meet you.

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Forest, Prezi, and Trek!

Hello, hello, hello! It's so nice to meet you! Our names are Forrest, Prezi and Trek, and sometimes we are lovingly referred to as the "Rafferty Kittens" by our friends at Providence Animal Center. Why, you ask? That is because the wonderful folks at Rafferty Subaru were the ones that found us and provided us the best chance at happily fur-ever after by handing our care over to the lifesavers at Providence Animal Center!

The story goes a little something like this: we were three motherless kittens that had been abandoned at the Rafferty Subaru dealership in Newtown Square. One of us was waiting outside of one of their cars, while the other two went undiscovered in the engine of the car (don't worry - this is a happy ending!). After the trip from Newtown Square to a home in Malvern, we made tons of noise, so that they would find all of us! After being found safe and sound, we were transported to PAC and have since been benefiting from a loving foster home.

We are nearly 8 weeks old now, and will be ready for our next chapters soon! Wish us luck, and schedule a matchmaking appointment to meet Providence Animal Center's available cats and kittens at ProvidenceAC.org/AdoptACat.

We just can't wait to see what the future holds - and it's all thanks to the compassionate hearts of the lifesavers at Rafferty Subaru and PAC. We told you it was a happy ending!

    Purrs and kisses,
    Forrest, Prezi, and Trek

  • Thor (FKA Cruz) is the Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week

Well, hiya there! The name is Thor, formerly Cruz. I am a refugee in Pennsylvania as I recently made the journey to Providence Animal Center from an overcrowded shelter in Louisiana. It was a huge help because it opened up space for displaced pets in the wake of #HurricaneLaura. I am so happy to be here and to have my best chance at a happy ending. Maybe that ending will include you!

I am approximately 2 years young, and nearly 60 pounds of Very Handsome Boy. I love to meet new people of all ages, and am even referred to as a "kiss-machine"! My ideal family will help me exercise, physically and mentally, every day. I love to play training games with my friends, especially when they reward me with yummy treats - like cheese!

I have already made so many friends at PAC, and they all say that underneath my macho name, I am a "big mush." I have been described as an "attention-getter, socialite, and playful" - yup, that's me! If you would like to meet me, schedule an appointment at ProvidenceAC.org/AdoptADog or call 610-566-1370 ext. 0! I hope to meet you soon!

    XOXO,
    Thor

P.S. Someone loves me so much that they sponsored my adoption fee! That means my adoption is free to a loving home.

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Bones

Well howdy there! My name is Bones, and I am a new "#ACCTtoPAC" arrival at Providence Animal Center, in Media. This means that they pulled me from a local overcrowded shelter, and are dedicated to providing me with a better future. I'm approximately four years old, and 57 pounds of handsomeness and charm!

Since arriving at PAC, I've made a lot of friends - even the four-legged kind! That means that I could go home with the right dog or cat siblings! My human friends describe me as a "playful, spunky rebel", and I would have to agree with that! I have a lot of energy, and like to spend it on long walks and romping around with my doggy friends. Hot dogs are one of my favorite things (like, ever), and I will sit nice and pretty for you if you have some!

I'm all ready to move into my forever home - I just need an awesome family to give me the chance. Could that be you? Learn more about me at ProvidenceAC.org/pets/Bones.

  • Here is the Rafferty Pet of the Week: Myrtle!

Well, hello there, friend! My name is Myrtle, and I am approximately 4 years old and 58 pounds of cuteness. I arrived to Providence Animal Center from an overcrowded shelter in Georgia, and have been benefiting from a loving foster home ever since. While I love my foster family very much, I am truly ready for my forever home. Could that possibly be with you?!

Here's a little bit about me so you can decide: my favorite places to nap are in my dog bed and under tables. When my family is home, I tend to cuddle up close to them! They say I am a "cuddler" who "gives great kisses," and I'll be sure to extend that love to my forever family as soon as we get to know one another. I am still gaining confidence, and I like to take things slowly with new people. This is because I have partial vision. While that doesn't stop me from loving life, it does mean I'm looking for a home that can accommodate me. My ideal home will have a fenced-in yard, with another relaxed doggy sibling and children middle-school aged and up. One of my favorite things is hanging out in the backyard! All of the smells and sounds - it's the best! My foster family says I love to bounce around, and play!

I will be a great companion to a family that likes leisurely walks, playing outside and cuddling up on the couch for an evening movie. Do I sound like your perfect match? Schedule a time to meet me by sending a completed adoption profile to Foster@ProvidenceAC.org. You can learn more here: https://www.providenceac.org/pets/myrtle/!

I hope to hear from you soon!

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Courage!

Hi, howdy, hello! My name is Courage, and I'm so excited to meet you! The reason I'm so excitable is because I'm a huge puppy - literally! I'm 7 months old, and weigh 45 pounds of cuteness. When my siblings and I were born, we spent the first part of our lives inside, and, as a result, we were shy and fearful of people when we first made our way to Providence Animal Center.

After spending some quality time with my new friends at PAC, I'm pleased as punch to announce that I like meeting new people now! I'd still like to take things slowly with human friends, but love (love, love) spending time with other dogs! I would be so excited if my future home had another doggy sibling to play with me, and give me confidence. I could even live with the right feline friend! Pretty amazing, right?! My friends here at PAC describe me as "sweet, shy and sensitive", and I'm just looking for the right family to help me bloom into the best, happiest version of myself!

So, what do you think? Do you have the 'Courage' to give me a chance? You can learn more about me here: ProvidenceAC.org/pets/courage - P.S. Someone loves me so much that they sponsored my adoption fee! That means my adoption is free to a loving home!

Why, hiya there! My name is Spot, and I reckon I have the best smile you have ever seen. I am 4 years old and 38 pounds of handsomeness and charm! I recently made the trip to Providence Animal Center from an overcrowded shelter in North Carolina, and I'm soooo ready to meet my forever family. Maybe that could be with you?! My friends at Providence Animal Center describe me as their "goofball" because I'm bouncy, wiggly and have this big smile on my face all the time! I even met a kitty-cat, and I think I could live with them as long as we were introduced slowly. My favorite things include walking, sniffing, being around people, and CHEESE! If it sounds like I would be a great addition to you family, you should schedule an appointment to come meet me, and my adoptable friends, at Providence Animal Center, in Media! You can schedule a matchmaking appointment here: ProvidenceAC.org/AdoptADog.

Why, hello there. My name is Romeo, and I'm pleased to meet you! Much like my namesake, I am handsome, charming and looking for true love! My friends at Providence Animal Center would describe me as a pleasant fella who loves the simple things in life: catnip, food and naps! If you would like to learn more about me, head to http://providenceac.org/pets/romeo, and if you think we'd be a match, schedule an appointment to visit Providence Animal Center, in Media!

I'm pretty clever, too. I love the challenges of puzzle toys and learning new tricks; so far, I have "sit," "paw" and "kiss" down pat! After my walks and toys, I'll be ready for a cozy cuddle; I'm actually a 70-pound lap dog! I can't wait to find my fur-ever family to give them all the cuddles. • Rafferty Subaru Rescue Pet of the Week: Faith

Hi, my name is Faith! I recently made my way to Providence Animal Center #ACCTtoPAC style, which means I came from ACCT Philly to PAC, and now I am ready to find my fur-ever home! I am 3 years old and 60 pounds of spunk. My favorite things to do are go on adventures with my favorite people - I've been described as quite the socialite AND kiss machine! I love people so much I want to be the only pet in the home - more lovin' for me! I love to use my brain, too - I'm not all looks! My friends here at PAC keep me mentally stimulated with puzzle toys and training sessions to keep me sharp and ready to enter a new home! If you would like to learn more about me, you can head to my bio here: providenceac.org/pets/faith, and if you think we'd be a great match, schedule an appointment to visit the Center! • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Snickers

What's your favorite candy bar? Mine would definitely have to be a Snickers bar, hands down! So what better name for a sweet guy like me??

I came to Providence Animal Center thanks to the humane law enforcement officer here. Unfortunately, I was found tied up in a park and abandoned. I am super handsome, friendly, and loving, so I'm not sure why someone left me all alone. But now I am looking for a fresh start in a loving fur-ever home.

I have been able to benefit from staying with a loving foster home for a while who has nothing but great things to say about me...aww shucks! I am the best of both worlds - I love to go on walks and play but can be a snuggly couch potato at the end of the day. My foster family says that I love everyone I meet from neighbors passing by on walks to my 2-legged foster siblings. They report that I am house-trained. I met some other dogs during my time at the center and I could potentially live with the right doggie roommate. However, I would prefer to live in a home without small animals and those pesky kitty cats.

My bags are packed and I am move-in-ready, I am neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, 3 years old, and about 60 pounds.

So if you're interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at PAC, please make an appointment here providenceac.org/AdoptADog to visit the center and meet us in person. The staff would love to match you with your new best friend forever - and hopefully, that's me!

    Sloppy kisses and tail wags,
    Snickers

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Tank

Hi there, my name's Tank! I made my way to Providence Animal Center all the way from an overcrowded shelter in Florida. I'm about 4 years young nearly 115 pounds of burnin' love! My friends at PAC describe me as a sweet extra-large couch potato. I love people of all ages and can't wait for a family of my own! We could do all my favorite things - go on car rides and adventures and meet new people! If you would like to learn more about me, head to my bio here: https://providenceac.org/pets/tank/, and if you think we'd be a great match, send an adoption profile to my friend Stevie at SRementer@ProvidenceAC.org. My adoption fee was sponsored by a really great person who must love big dogs. That means my fee is FREE. If you're looking to add a gentle giant to your family, then I have good news - that's me! I hope to hear from you soon!

    Sloppy kisses & tail wags,
    Tank

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Tiny

Hi there, my name is Tiny! I am a 1-year old Georgia native. True to name, I don't know my own size - I'm 82 pounds of pure goofiness! I get so excited to see my friends at Providence Animal Center that I just want to hug them! Dogs too, as you can see. I would love for an adult family to have experience with big pooches like myself and continue the training that my friends at PAC have started. I may be cute, but I'm not all looks - I love to learn! I've been working on cues like "sit," "drop it" and other commands! I'm also working on my leash-walking manners; sometimes I still try to take the leash and show my human friend where exactly I want to go. I can't wait to be in my furever home and go on daily "sniffari's" where we just walk and walk and I can take in the world through my big nose - these are the best! I have been so lucky to be at PAC where they can understand my quirks and give me the patience I need to be the best boy. I know there is someone out there for me - someone who's probably a little different than the rest, just like me. My paws are crossed that they will see this post. If that's you, send an adoption profile to one of my favorite humans at the Center, Dayna: DVilla@ProvidenceAC.org.

    Big hugs and sloppy kisses,
    Tiny

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Hart the Cat!

Hi there! My name is Hart and I recently arrived to Providence Animal Center from an overcrowded shelter in New Jersey. I am all ready to ride right into your h(e)art & home today. I'm approximately 1 year old with gorgeous medium-length black & white fur. Because I'm too handsome to compete with anyone else, my friends at Providence Animal Center feel that I would do best in a home with no other cats & dogs. I just want to be the king of your h(e)art - can you blame me? I quite enjoyed my time in the Rafferty Rescue. As you may be able to see, I was wearing a kitty harness - and leash! - and loved feeling the breeze in my fur and looking up at the trees. I don't want to live outside, of course, but I did enjoy it safely for a few minutes. If you would like to learn more about me, head here: providenceac.org/pets/hart and then send an adoption profile to one of my favorite humans at the Center, Amber, at ALoro@providenceac.org. Then my people will call your people. My paws are crossed I will hear from you soon!

    Purrs and Meows,
    Hart

Hiya, hey, hello! My name is Buster, and it's so nice to meet you! Allow me to tell you a little bit more about myself: I am approximately 3 years old, and almost 70 pounds of chocolate handsomeness. I made my way to Providence Animal Center #ACCTtoPAC style, which means I came from ACCT Philly to PAC, and now I am ready to find my fur-ever home, My friends at PAC say I am an incredible fella who will make a fabulous family companion, and who am I to disagree?! I love to go on long walks, and am told I walk very well on a leash. I even recently took a trip to the park, and it was fantastic! From the car ride, to the walking, to playing in the water - I loved it! My favorite things include being around people, learning new tricks, gentle head rubs and giving kisses! • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Foots!

Howdy there! My name is Foots. You may think that name is not very glamorous, but I think it's full of personality - like me! My whole world was turned upside down when my previous family could no longer care for me. Luckily, my friends at Providence Animal Center brought me into their safe haven, and have been giving me the love, patience and space I need to be my amazing self. I am approximately 8 years old and 105 pounds of handsomeness! My ideal family will be an adult-only family with large breed experience, and want to give me a comfortable couch to retire to. I absolutely love being outside, and went on a 5-mile walk over Mother's Day weekend! I even enjoyed the car ride there. Of course, I also love to lounge in a comfortable spot close to my loved ones. If you're interested in learning more about me, send an adoption profile to my friend Dayna at DVilla@ProvidenceAC.org! I sure hope I meet my match soon, and that it's someone as lovely as you!

    Tail wags and paw-shakes,

    Foots

P.S. Someone loves me so much that they sponsored my adoption fee! That means my adoption is free to a loving home. Yippee!

Here are some facts about me in case you need convincing: I am a #ACCTtoPAC tabby cat, meaning Providence Animal Center saved me from ACCT Philly, a local overcrowded shelter. Now, I have my best chance at happily ever after! My friends at Providence Animal Center describe me as a social cat because I always greet them happily at the door! My purr-fect day includes play wrestling with my toys, using my scratching post, and then settling down in a comfortable place for a nice nap. If you get down on my level, be prepared for some loving! I can be quite affectionate. • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Batman

Oh, hiya! My name is Batman. I'm Providence Animal Center's current resident superhero and sweetheart. I arrived at PAC a few weeks ago needing emergency medical care after I was struck by a moving vehicle. My friends have taken such good care of me, and I just know I will be ready for a future filled with nothing but joy soon! I needed lifesaving surgery due to my leg injury, which has made me a tri-pawd. That just means I can romp and play with three legs now! I didn't mind getting into a car with my most trusted friends, but I did need a little boost on the way up. My favorite things include hot dogs and playing fetch! I just LOVE tennis balls and rope toys. My friends are still learning all there is to know about me, and making sure my leg and heart are fully healed before I am available to adopt. Until then, please take a look at the amazing, available pets at Providence Animal Center by heading to ProvidenceAC.org/Adopt. PAC is offering remote adoptions through foster care because the adoption center is currently closed. Right now, your support is needed now more than ever to help me and my friends and the others still in need. If you would like to support PAC's lifesaving mission, consider making a donation at ProvidenceAC.org/CovidRelief. All donations made now through May 5th - #GivingTuesdayNow - will be DOUBLED thanks to a generous donor. Thanks for taking the time to read about me. I just can't wait for the day that I meet MY superhero. XOXO, Batman

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Sheeba

Why, hello there! I hope you and your loved ones are all doing well during this difficult time. For me, I'm doing great! My friends, the essential staff at Providence Animal Center, have been giving me a lot of one-on-one attention and love. In return, I am letting them learn all about ME! Here's what they know: I am a very sweet adult lady, and am approximately 6 years old and about 80 pounds of adorableness. My friends at PAC said that in three words I am "sweet, energetic and lovable." Yep, that's definitely me in a nutshell! Some of my favorite things include taking car rides (as you can see) and going on nice, long walks. I'm still getting to know everyone at PAC, so I am not ready for my forever family just yet, but I sure hope you'll think of me if you have room in your heart and home for a furry friend soon! In the meantime, you can consider helping out homeless pets like me by making a donation at ProvidenceAC.org/CovidRelief or by purchasing items from PAC's Amazon Wish List located at ProvidenceAC.org/WishList. Please continue to stay safe, take care and check out all of the amazing pets that will be available to adopt soon at Providence Animal Center by visiting ProvidenceAC.org/Adopt.

  • Rafferty Rescue Pups of the Week: The ‘Shrimp’ Puppies

Hello, hello, hello, hello & hello! We'd like to introduce ourselves as the famous "Shrimp Puppies." Why is that our litter name? Our momma is named Shrimp, and we were given matching names - Coconut, PoBoy, Lejon, Popcorn and Scampi! We were born in a loving foster home on Leap Day, bringing us just over 5 weeks old, which means we still have some growing to do before we're ready for our own forever homes. In just a short amount of time, we have experienced so much joy, but nothing tops what we were able to accomplish this week: we visited ManorCare, a local nursing home, and said hello to all of the residents by practicing #socialdistancing from outside of their windows! Seeing the smiles on their faces and their hands waving excitedly was so, so special! One of the highlights of our trip was riding in the Rafferty Rescue car. You can tell by our faces, but we were so excited to be taking a ride to bring a little joy to others. Our friends at Providence Animal Center were even able to transport a ton of PPE from PAC to be donated to our new friends at the nursing home. How awesome is that?! This was one way for our cute selves to safely help others during this difficult time. Providence Animal Center, and all of their pets, still need your help too. You can help by donating to ProvidenceAC.org/CovidRelief or by purchasing a limited edition item featuring … US! Just head to bonfire.com/socialdistancing-puppies. Follow our journey on Providence Animal Center's Facebook page. We're so excited to continue making special memories before our big day! See you soon! Kisses x5, The Shrimp Puppies

  • Special Rafferty Rescue Guest Coming up Tomorrow…

Providence Animal Center donated PPE and offered some puppy love to a local nursing home in need on Monday.

Under the new restrictions of providing only essential medical care, Providence Animal Center's veterinary services have scaled back to only life-sustaining services, and therefore the regular amount of supplies are not currently needed. PAC's adoption center is currently closed to the public but they hope to launch a remote adoption procedure this week in order to offer adoptions from foster care. For more information, visit ProvidenceAC.org.

The Shrimp puppies, an adorable litter of 5 who will be available for adoption in the coming weeks, visited the nursing home staff outside and residents through their windows. Visit Providence Animal Center's social media pages to see the cuteness in action!

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Gertie

Howdy there! My name is Gertie. I'm a petite lady who arrived at Providence Animal Center from an overcrowded shelter in Florida. I'm approximately 6 years old and nearly 50 pounds of adorableness! I'm new to PAC, so my friends are still learning all there is to know about me. Here's what we know so far - I love leisurely walks with my human friends and getting to sniff all my favorite smells! If you're looking for a lady who knows how to stop, be present and smell the flowers - that's me! My friends describe me as a kiss-machine, and incredibly sweet. They say I may be small, but I have a huge personality and a lot of love to give! You can meet me at Providence Animal Center by appointment only. Head to ProvidenceAC.org/AdoptADog or call the adoption center at 610-566-1370 x 0 to schedule an appointment to meet a dog like me. Hope to see you soon! Sloppy kisses & tail wags, Gertie

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Midnight

Hello, hello, hello! My name is Midnight, and shortly after I stepped into the magical Rafferty Rescue Vehicle, I found my forever home! Pretty coincidental, huh? I don't believe in coincidences, so I call it the luck of the ride. But my friends at Providence Animal Center, in Media, are still waiting, and I want you to know that they are open for business despite this crazy COVID stuff, whatever that means. Adoptions are now taking place by appointment only, which means you have to visit ProvidenceAC.org/AdoptADog or ProvidenceAC.org/AdoptACat to schedule a time to meet a dog or a cat (yuck). Check out a wide variety of my furry friends at ProvidenceAC.org/Adopt. And maybe I'll see you on the road one day - with my new fam. XOXO, Midnight on behalf of the homeless pets still waiting

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Sabrina

Why, hello there! It's such a delight to meet you. My name is Sabrina and I am currently waiting on my future family at Providence Animal Center in Media. I am originally from an overcrowded shelter in North Carolina, but made the journey to PA in hopes of finding the ones … Could that be you?! I am approximately 1 year old and 27 pounds of adorableness. Not too small, and not too big, in my opinion! When my friends told me I could pose for pictures in the car, I was more than happy to say "YES"! I happily hopped in the back, and can't wait to do so again when I'm on my way home. My friends here at PAC say that I love toys, treats, being your "shadow" and have the best wiggles when I'm excited! I think I'd like a home where my family could stay active with me since I'm still so young and full of life! What do you say? Come meet me soon! I just know we will hit it off. Tail wags and nose boops, Sabrina.

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Pinto!

Oh, hello there. My name is Pinto, and I'm a young adult fella, just over 1 year old. My friends at Providence Animal Center say I'm 80 pounds of gentleness. My beautiful golden coat draws everyone close to me, but I like to take things slowly! If you can respect my boundaries, I know we'd be the perfect match. My ideal family will be as active as I am, and will give me the chance to exercise my body AND mind! I love puzzle toys, and KONG wobblers filled with peanut butter! I hope to live in a quiet, relaxed home with family that give me the space to grow and thrive. I walk very well on the leash, sit nicely for treats and love to get in the car for a breezy ride (as you can see)! I am very laid back once you get to know me, and boy do I hope you take the time to get to know me! I am patiently waiting for you at Providence Animal Center. Have some extra time? Come and meet me soon! Tails Wags, Pinto.

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Andy

Hi! Hello! Howdy! My name is Andy, and I'm so excited to meet you! I'm hoping to charm you with my good looks and personality so that we can become family - wouldn't that be nice?! I'll start off by saying I'm a spirited 8 years old. I know you may think I'm slowing down, but that's simply not true. I have a ton of pep in my step, and years of love ahead of me! They say good things come in small packages, and I have to agree (and not just because I'm 13 pounds of adorableness). I came to Providence Animal Center from ACCT Philly, a local overcrowded shelter, and am happily spending time with by besties here until the day you come to get me arrives! Something I'd like you to know about me is that I need time to trust. But, can you blame me? Shelter life is ruff. I expect my future family to take it slow with me. With a little time, and a lot of treats, I'll definitely warm up to you in no time! My ideal home will be quiet, calm and consistent. I'd do best in a home with children high-school ages and older. I love to have a crate as a safe space to get treats and take time to wind down. My best friend at Providence Animal Center, Amber, has been working hard to learn everything there is to now about me, so she said she would help me find my fur-ever family! If you'd like to meet me, please email her at ALoro@ProvidenceAC.org!  Hope to hear from you soon! XOXO, Andy

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Mouse

Oh, hello there. The name is Mouse! Mouse, not Moose. I may be a tall fella, but I'm much more timid in person. I am approximately 2 years old and over 50 pounds of handsomeness. I made my way to Providence Animal Center all the way from an overcrowded shelter in North Carolina, and I'm excited to settle down in a comfortable PA home. Maybe that could be with you?! My friends at Providence Animal Center say I get my name from my demeanor because I can be as quiet as a … MOUSE! I am happy to relax with my friends in a quiet room, getting treats and attention. I love all kinds of people and will definitely warm up if you have some tasty snacks with you. After meeting all kinds of furry friends at PAC, I've decided I could live with the right kitty cat or dog roommate! I'm a laid-back fella, so I'd definitely enjoy the company of siblings who like to mingle instead of romp around. I love to use my nose and go on nice leisurely walks. My ideal family will enjoy these strolls with me! I'd sure love someone to smell the flowers with. What do you say - want a buddy to experience all of life's little wonders with?! I'm your guy. Come meet me at Providence Animal Center, and we're sure to click! P.S. If you're not sure you want to adopt, Providence Animal Center has a doggie day-date program called Rover All Over where you can register to take a dog like me out for the day! It's a great way for shelter dogs to de-stress and experience the world. Register today at ProvidenceAC.org/Rover.

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Princess

Why, hello there! My name is Princess. I am approximately 4 years old and 33 pounds of adorableness. Petite, cute, sweet … what more could you ask for?! Well, I'll tell you what else you'll get: A BFF to relax with, a partner to go on long walks with, and a companion for life. After traveling all the way up the coast from Georgia, I am patiently waiting for my forever family while in good company at Providence Animal Center in Media. I think it's very important to be open with each other about our needs. You know what they say - communication is key! I'll start - I am a pretty shy gal, and need lots of time and space when meeting new people before I feel comfortable being myself. I am looking for a forever family that will honor my needs, and be patient and supportive of my efforts to acclimate to so much newness once I'm adopted! This acclimation period will ideally involve structure & routine, nice treats, positive interactions and a crate to use as my safe space. I love going on long walks, and can make it 5 miles before I'm out of breath! During these walks, my priority is sniffing. I'm happiest when I've had time to put my nose to work on the ground, and learn about the world around me. I am relaxed, and looking for a low-key family who loves the same quiet environment that I do. What do you think?! If your needs include a sweet, petite, young adult lady like myself, then I think we can call it fur-ever. XOXO, Princess. P.S. If you're not sure you're ready to adopt, but you want to give this a chance, take me home for a 48-hour sleepover!

  • PACT for Animals Purchases Transport Vehicle at Rafferty Subaru

PACT for Animals is a 501(c) 3 organization that provides foster care for animals when their owners are deployed or dealing with medical emergencies requiring hospital care. Buzz Miller, founder of PACT for Animals, chose to purchase a Subaru from Rafferty Subaru in Newtown Square, PA thanks to a donation earmarked to PACT for an animal transport vehicle. Buzz Miller learned from Major General John Gronski that many soldiers were forced to surrender their pets to area shelters before leaving on deployment. Many in his command were leaving for dangerous areas around the world, volunteering to serve their Country. Sadly, no animal welfare group was available on a volunteer basis to offer foster care for their "best friends" when all other avenues for foster care had fallen through. PACT steps in when there is no other option than to surrender a pet to a shelter. PACT volunteers step up to offer long-term temporary foster care from a month to as long as two years at no charge, opening their hearts and their homes to companion pets. Pets are kept safe until their owner's emergency has passed, and they can be reunited with their families. Visit PACT's website or PACT for Animals on YouTube to watch some reunions and see the variety of ways you can volunteer or foster.

  • Rafferty Subaru Sponsors Run for the Day Marathon

On Saturday, June 23rd, 2018, Rafferty Subaru sponsored the Run for the Day marathon at the Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square, PA.  All proceeds went directly to the Coaches vs. Cancer program of The American Cancer Society. The goal of this event was to celebrate cancer survivors, to remember and honor those we lost, and FIGHT BACK against this illness. Cancer hits too close to home for many people, and Rafferty Subaru helped to fight all kinds of cancer, for everyone, in every community. The Raffertys love to stay involved and give back to their local community. When they heard about the marathon, they immediately decided to sponsor the event. The Heroes vs.Cancer is an offshoot of Coaches vs. Cancer. Norm Stewart, a former head coach of the University of Missouri's men's basketball program, a cancer survivor, and a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), had the initial vision of the concept. Eventually, the idea evolved and soon the Coaches vs. Cancer program was formed, becoming a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the NABC.

  • Rafferty Subaru and Main Line Animal Rescue Host Pet Adoption Events

For the last three years, Rafferty Subaru has worked with Main Line Animal Rescue (MLAR) to bring animals available for adoption or rescued into Rafferty's showroom. MLAR volunteers provide information about the adoption process and how individuals can help MLAR. Donations of food, blankets, and money are always welcome. This past November, when MLAR came to visit, it was a dreary, rainy Saturday morning. The dogs and cats brought in their own sunshine and fun, hoping to find a new "fur"ever home. It was wonderful seeing customers interact with all of the animals. Customers brought in their rescue dogs to visit us too! Animal Planet sent us doggie flashlights, collapsible water bowls, magnets, and doggie litter bags to give away. It was a time for old friends from previous events to reconnect and share amazing stories about their pets (everyone expressed how much the animals love Subaru). Rafferty loves spending time with animals and wonderful volunteers. Please check MILLER's website for all the adorable adoptable animals. Rafferty Subaru hopes to see you at a future adoption event.

Throughout the month of April, Rafferty Subaru hosted an E-Waste Recycling Event in our store to collect unwanted electronics including LCD Monitors, Cell Phones, Laptops, Tablets, CRT's up to 40 inches, Video Games/Consoles, Fax Machines, DVD/VCR Players, Printers, Computer Peripherals, Switches/Routers, Cords and Wires. We worked with a company who responsibly collects, re-purposes, and recycles your electronic waste. Rafferty Subaru would like to thank our customers for participating in the event. With your help, we were able to prevent 12,497 lbs of carbon emissions from polluting the atmosphere. This is equivalent to saving 479 trees, 2,125 gallons of gasoline, 18,117 plastic bottles, and 83,334 aluminum cans. Thank you for helping to strengthen the Subaru Love Promise!

  • Rescue Pet of the Week

Rafferty Subaru loves animals, and we actively promote awareness of homeless and abandoned animals by showcasing a "Rescue Pet of the Week" on our Facebook page. All of these pets deserve to be in a "Fur" ever home. Rafferty Subaru partners with the Providence Animal Center to find homes for animals in need. At the Providence Animal Center, lifesaving work happens every day. The Center offers protection and placement of rescued, neglected, and relinquished pets, delivering compassionate and advanced care. Rafferty Subaru is committed to having a positive effect in the community and showing love and respect to others, including our furry friends. • Rafferty Subaru Driving Shelter Dogs in Cars Video Featured on National TV

On Thursday, January 5, 2017, Rafferty Subaru's video, Driving Shelter Dogs in Cars, was featured on an episode of the nationally televised program Right  This Minute. Rafferty Subaru teamed up with our friends at 6 ABC to give adorable pups from Providence Animal Center and Main Line Animal Rescue, who are waiting to find their forever homes, a day to remember. Dogs loves a nice car ride, which is why Rafferty Subaru decided it would be fun to chauffeur shelter dogs around town in a brand new Subaru Outback. Mosby, Daisy, Meggie and few other friends enjoyed a day out on the town in style with the wind in their hair. All of the dogs featured on our Driving Shelter Dogs in Cars series and many more lovable friends are available for adoption at Providence Animal Center and Main Line Animal Rescue. As Our Love Promise to our Local Shelter, we have also had adoption animals here in the Showroom to be Adopted from time to time.
