  • Rafferty Subaru Rescue Pet of the Week: Lulu

Hi, my name's Lulu! I'm a 2-year-old spunky girl with the best ears in town! I love being with people. Whether it's a long walk or a car ride, I'm always up for an adventure! I'm pretty clever, too. I love the challenges of puzzle toys and learning new tricks; so far, I have "sit," "paw" and "kiss" down pat! After my walks and toys, I'll be ready for a cozy cuddle; I'm actually a 70-pound lap dog! I can't wait to find my fur-ever family to give them all the cuddles. If you would like to learn more about me, head to my bio here:, and if you think we'd be a great match, schedule an appointment to visit Providence Animal Center, in Media. I can't wait to meet you!

    Cuddles and tail wags,

  • Rafferty Subaru Rescue Pet of the Week: Faith

Hi, my name is Faith! I recently made my way to Providence Animal Center #ACCTtoPAC style, which means I came from ACCT Philly to PAC, and now I am ready to find my fur-ever home! I am 3 years old and 60 pounds of spunk. My favorite things to do are go on adventures with my favorite people - I've been described as quite the socialite AND kiss machine! I love people so much I want to be the only pet in the home - more lovin' for me! I love to use my brain, too - I'm not all looks! My friends here at PAC keep me mentally stimulated with puzzle toys and training sessions to keep me sharp and ready to enter a new home! If you would like to learn more about me, you can head to my bio here:, and if you think we'd be a great match, schedule an appointment to visit the Center! I can't wait to meet you!

    Sloppy kisses and tail wags,

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Snickers

What's your favorite candy bar? Mine would definitely have to be a Snickers bar, hands down! So what better name for a sweet guy like me??

I came to Providence Animal Center thanks to the humane law enforcement officer here. Unfortunately, I was found tied up in a park and abandoned. I am super handsome, friendly, and loving, so I'm not sure why someone left me all alone. But now I am looking for a fresh start in a loving fur-ever home.
I have been able to benefit from staying with a loving foster home for a while who has nothing but great things to say about me...aww shucks! I am the best of both worlds - I love to go on walks and play but can be a snuggly couch potato at the end of the day. My foster family says that I love everyone I meet from neighbors passing by on walks to my 2-legged foster siblings. They report that I am house-trained. I met some other dogs during my time at the center and I could potentially live with the right doggie roommate. However, I would prefer to live in a home without small animals and those pesky kitty cats.

My bags are packed and I am move-in-ready, I am neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, 3 years old, and about 60 pounds.

So if you're interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at PAC, please make an appointment here to visit the center and meet us in person. The staff would love to match you with your new best friend forever - and hopefully, that's me!

    Sloppy kisses and tail wags,

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Tank

Hi there, my name's Tank! I made my way to Providence Animal Center all the way from an overcrowded shelter in Florida. I'm about 4 years young nearly 115 pounds of burnin' love! My friends at PAC describe me as a sweet extra-large couch potato. I love people of all ages and can't wait for a family of my own! We could do all my favorite things - go on car rides and adventures and meet new people! If you would like to learn more about me, head to my bio here:, and if you think we'd be a great match, send an adoption profile to my friend Stevie at My adoption fee was sponsored by a really great person who must love big dogs. That means my fee is FREE. If you're looking to add a gentle giant to your family, then I have good news - that's me! I hope to hear from you soon!

    Sloppy kisses & tail wags,

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Tiny

Hi there, my name is Tiny! I am a 1-year old Georgia native. True to name, I don't know my own size - I'm 82 pounds of pure goofiness! I get so excited to see my friends at Providence Animal Center that I just want to hug them! Dogs too, as you can see. I would love for an adult family to have experience with big pooches like myself and continue the training that my friends at PAC have started. I may be cute, but I'm not all looks - I love to learn! I've been working on cues like "sit," "drop it" and other commands! I'm also working on my leash-walking manners; sometimes I still try to take the leash and show my human friend where exactly I want to go. I can't wait to be in my furever home and go on daily "sniffari's" where we just walk and walk and I can take in the world through my big nose - these are the best! I have been so lucky to be at PAC where they can understand my quirks and give me the patience I need to be the best boy. I know there is someone out there for me - someone who's probably a little different than the rest, just like me. My paws are crossed that they will see this post. If that's you, send an adoption profile to one of my favorite humans at the Center, Dayna:

    Big hugs and sloppy kisses,

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Hart the Cat!

Hi there! My name is Hart and I recently arrived to Providence Animal Center from an overcrowded shelter in New Jersey. I am all ready to ride right into your h(e)art & home today. I'm approximately 1 year old with gorgeous medium-length black & white fur. Because I'm too handsome to compete with anyone else, my friends at Providence Animal Center feel that I would do best in a home with no other cats & dogs. I just want to be the king of your h(e)art - can you blame me? I quite enjoyed my time in the Rafferty Rescue. As you may be able to see, I was wearing a kitty harness - and leash! - and loved feeling the breeze in my fur and looking up at the trees. I don't want to live outside, of course, but I did enjoy it safely for a few minutes. If you would like to learn more about me, head here: and then send an adoption profile to one of my favorite humans at the Center, Amber, at Then my people will call your people. Allow me to tell you a little bit more about myself: I am approximately 3 years old, and almost 70 pounds of chocolate handsomeness. I made my way to Providence Animal Center #ACCTtoPAC style, which means I came from ACCT Philly to PAC, and now I am ready to find my fur-ever home, My friends at PAC say I am an incredible fella who will make a fabulous family companion, and who am I to disagree?! I love to go on long walks, and am told I walk very well on a leash. I even recently took a trip to the park, and it was fantastic! From the car ride, to the walking, to playing in the water - I loved it! My favorite things include being around people, learning new tricks, gentle head rubs and giving kisses! If you would like to learn more about me, you can head to my bio here:, and if you think we'd be a great match, send an adoption profile to my friend Stevie at If you're looking to add a sweet doggo with big brown eyes to your family, then I have good news - that's me! I hope to hear from you soon!

    Sloppy kisses and tail wags,

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Foots!

Howdy there! My name is Foots. You may think that name is not very glamorous, but I think it's full of personality - like me! My whole world was turned upside down when my previous family could no longer care for me. Luckily, my friends at Providence Animal Center brought me into their safe haven, and have been giving me the love, patience and space I need to be my amazing self. I am approximately 8 years old and 105 pounds of handsomeness! My ideal family will be an adult-only family with large breed experience, and want to give me a comfortable couch to retire to. I absolutely love being outside, and went on a 5-mile walk over Mother's Day weekend! I even enjoyed the car ride there. Of course, I also love to lounge in a comfortable spot close to my loved ones. If you're interested in learning more about me, send an adoption profile to my friend Dayna at! I sure hope I meet my match soon, and that it's someone as lovely as you!

    Tail wags and paw-shakes,

P.S. Someone loves me so much that they sponsored my adoption fee! That means my adoption is free to a loving home. Yippee!

If you would like to learn more about me, head here: and then send an adoption profile to the contact listed in my bio if you think we would be a good match! I can't wait to meow-t my fur-ever people! Maybe that's your family?! Purrs and Meows, Darrell. P.S. - I was wearing a kitty cat harness in these photos, and my friends say I didn't mind it one bit!

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Batman

Oh, hiya! My name is Batman. I'm Providence Animal Center's current resident superhero and sweetheart. I arrived at PAC a few weeks ago needing emergency medical care after I was struck by a moving vehicle. My friends have taken such good care of me, and I just know I will be ready for a future filled with nothing but joy soon! I needed lifesaving surgery due to my leg injury, which has made me a tri-pawd. That just means I can romp and play with three legs now! I didn't mind getting into a car with my most trusted friends, but I did need a little boost on the way up. My favorite things include hot dogs and playing fetch! I just LOVE tennis balls and rope toys. My friends are still learning all there is to know about me, and making sure my leg and heart are fully healed before I am available to adopt. Until then, please take a look at the amazing, available pets at Providence Animal Center by heading to PAC is offering remote adoptions through foster care because the adoption center is currently closed. Right now, your support is needed now more than ever to help me and my friends and the others still in need. Some of my favorite things include taking car rides (as you can see) and going on nice, long walks. • Rafferty Rescue Pups of the Week: The ‘Shrimp’ Puppies

Hello, hello, hello, hello & hello! We'd like to introduce ourselves as the famous "Shrimp Puppies." Why is that our litter name? Our momma is named Shrimp, and we were given matching names - Coconut, PoBoy, Lejon, Popcorn and Scampi! We were born in a loving foster home on Leap Day, bringing us just over 5 weeks old, which means we still have some growing to do before we're ready for our own forever homes. In just a short amount of time, we have experienced so much joy, but nothing tops what we were able to accomplish this week: we visited ManorCare, a local nursing home, and said hello to all of the residents by practicing #socialdistancing from outside of their windows! Seeing the smiles on their faces and their hands waving excitedly was so, so special! One of the highlights of our trip was riding in the Rafferty Rescue car. You can tell by our faces, but we were so excited to be taking a ride to bring a little joy to others. Our friends at Providence Animal Center were even able to transport a ton of PPE from PAC to be donated to our new friends at the nursing home. How awesome is that?! This was one way for our cute selves to safely help others during this difficult time. Providence Animal Center, and all of their pets, still need your help too. You can help by donating to or by purchasing a limited edition item featuring … US! Just head to Follow our journey on Providence Animal Center's Facebook page. We're so excited to continue making special memories before our big day! See you soon! Kisses x5, The Shrimp Puppies

  • Special Rafferty Rescue Guest Coming up Tomorrow…

Providence Animal Center donated PPE and offered some puppy love to a local nursing home in need on Monday.

Under the new restrictions of providing only essential medical care, Providence Animal Center's veterinary services have scaled back to only life-sustaining services, and therefore the regular amount of supplies are not currently needed. PAC's adoption center is currently closed to the public but they hope to launch a remote adoption procedure this week in order to offer adoptions from foster care. For more information, visit

The Shrimp puppies, an adorable litter of 5 who will be available for adoption in the coming weeks, visited the nursing home staff outside and residents through their windows. Visit Providence Animal Center's social media pages to see the cuteness in action!

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Gertie

Howdy there! My name is Gertie. I'm a petite lady who arrived at Providence Animal Center from an overcrowded shelter in Florida. I'm approximately 6 years old and nearly 50 pounds of adorableness! I'm new to PAC, so my friends are still learning all there is to know about me. Here's what we know so far - I love leisurely walks with my human friends and getting to sniff all my favorite smells! If you're looking for a lady who knows how to stop, be present and smell the flowers - that's me! My friends describe me as a kiss-machine, and incredibly sweet. They say I may be small, but I have a huge personality and a lot of love to give! You can meet me at Providence Animal Center by appointment only. Head to or call the adoption center at 610-566-1370 x 0 to schedule an appointment to meet a dog like me. Hope to see you soon! Sloppy kisses & tail wags, Gertie

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Midnight

Hello, hello, hello! My name is Midnight, and shortly after I stepped into the magical Rafferty Rescue Vehicle, I found my forever home! Pretty coincidental, huh? I don't believe in coincidences, so I call it the luck of the ride. But my friends at Providence Animal Center, in Media, are still waiting, and I want you to know that they are open for business despite this crazy COVID stuff, whatever that means. Adoptions are now taking place by appointment only, which means you have to visit or to schedule a time to meet a dog or a cat (yuck). Check out a wide variety of my furry friends at And maybe I'll see you on the road one day - with my new fam. XOXO, Midnight on behalf of the homeless pets still waiting

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Sabrina

Why, hello there! It's such a delight to meet you. My name is Sabrina and I am currently waiting on my future family at Providence Animal Center in Media. I am originally from an overcrowded shelter in North Carolina, but made the journey to PA in hopes of finding the ones … Could that be you?! I am approximately 1 year old and 27 pounds of adorableness. Not too small, and not too big, in my opinion! When my friends told me I could pose for pictures in the car, I was more than happy to say "YES"! I happily hopped in the back, and can't wait to do so again when I'm on my way home. My friends here at PAC say that I love toys, treats, being your "shadow" and have the best wiggles when I'm excited! I think I'd like a home where my family could stay active with me since I'm still so young and full of life! What do you say? Come meet me soon! I just know we will hit it off. Tail wags and nose boops, Sabrina.

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Pinto!

Oh, hello there. My name is Pinto, and I'm a young adult fella, just over 1 year old. My friends at Providence Animal Center say I'm 80 pounds of gentleness. My beautiful golden coat draws everyone close to me, but I like to take things slowly! If you can respect my boundaries, I know we'd be the perfect match. My ideal family will be as active as I am, and will give me the chance to exercise my body AND mind! I love puzzle toys, and KONG wobblers filled with peanut butter! I hope to live in a quiet, relaxed home with family that give me the space to grow and thrive. I walk very well on the leash, sit nicely for treats and love to get in the car for a breezy ride (as you can see)! I am very laid back once you get to know me, and boy do I hope you take the time to get to know me! I am patiently waiting for you at Providence Animal Center. Have some extra time? Come and meet me soon! Tails Wags, Pinto.

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Andy

Hi! Hello! Howdy! My name is Andy, and I'm so excited to meet you! I'm hoping to charm you with my good looks and personality so that we can become family - wouldn't that be nice?! I'll start off by saying I'm a spirited 8 years old. I know you may think I'm slowing down, but that's simply not true. I have a ton of pep in my step, and years of love ahead of me! They say good things come in small packages, and I have to agree (and not just because I'm 13 pounds of adorableness). I came to Providence Animal Center from ACCT Philly, a local overcrowded shelter, and am happily spending time with by besties here until the day you come to get me arrives! Something I'd like you to know about me is that I need time to trust. But, can you blame me? Shelter life is ruff. I expect my future family to take it slow with me. With a little time, and a lot of treats, I'll definitely warm up to you in no time! My ideal home will be quiet, calm and consistent. I'd do best in a home with children high-school ages and older. I love to have a crate as a safe space to get treats and take time to wind down. My best friend at Providence Animal Center, Amber, has been working hard to learn everything there is to now about me, so she said she would help me find my fur-ever family! If you'd like to meet me, please email her at!  Hope to hear from you soon! XOXO, Andy

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Mouse

Oh, hello there. The name is Mouse! Mouse, not Moose. I may be a tall fella, but I'm much more timid in person. I am approximately 2 years old and over 50 pounds of handsomeness. I made my way to Providence Animal Center all the way from an overcrowded shelter in North Carolina, and I'm excited to settle down in a comfortable PA home. Maybe that could be with you?! My friends at Providence Animal Center say I get my name from my demeanor because I can be as quiet as a … MOUSE! I am happy to relax with my friends in a quiet room, getting treats and attention. I love all kinds of people and will definitely warm up if you have some tasty snacks with you. After meeting all kinds of furry friends at PAC, I've decided I could live with the right kitty cat or dog roommate! I'm a laid-back fella, so I'd definitely enjoy the company of siblings who like to mingle instead of romp around. I love to use my nose and go on nice leisurely walks. My ideal family will enjoy these strolls with me! I'd sure love someone to smell the flowers with. What do you say - want a buddy to experience all of life's little wonders with?! I'm your guy. Come meet me at Providence Animal Center, and we're sure to click! P.S. If you're not sure you want to adopt, Providence Animal Center has a doggie day-date program called Rover All Over where you can register to take a dog like me out for the day! It's a great way for shelter dogs to de-stress and experience the world. Register today at

  • Rafferty Rescue Pet of the Week: Princess

Why, hello there! My name is Princess. I am approximately 4 years old and 33 pounds of adorableness. Petite, cute, sweet … what more could you ask for?! Well, I'll tell you what else you'll get: A BFF to relax with, a partner to go on long walks with, and a companion for life. After traveling all the way up the coast from Georgia, I am patiently waiting for my forever family while in good company at Providence Animal Center in Media. I think it's very important to be open with each other about our needs. You know what they say - communication is key! I'll start - I am a pretty shy gal, and need lots of time and space when meeting new people before I feel comfortable being myself. I am looking for a forever family that will honor my needs, and be patient and supportive of my efforts to acclimate to so much newness once I'm adopted! This acclimation period will ideally involve structure & routine, nice treats, positive interactions and a crate to use as my safe space. I love going on long walks, and can make it 5 miles before I'm out of breath! During these walks, my priority is sniffing. I'm happiest when I've had time to put my nose to work on the ground, and learn about the world around me. I am relaxed, and looking for a low-key family who loves the same quiet environment that I do. What do you think?! If your needs include a sweet, petite, young adult lady like myself, then I think we can call it fur-ever. XOXO, Princess. P.S. If you're not sure you're ready to adopt, but you want to give this a chance, take me home for a 48-hour sleepover!

  • Subaru Loves Pets Adoption Event

Subaru Loves Pets Adoption Event at Rafferty Subaru, 4700 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA on Saturday, November 9th from 11 am to 2 pm.

Come out and adopt a furry friend and see the Rafferty Rescue Outback!

  • The “Rafferty Rescue” Subaru Outback Animal Transport Vehicle

The "Rafferty Rescue" Subaru Outback is used by the Providence Animal Center to transport animals up for adoption from overcrowded shelters, as well as shuttle pets to meet and greet events with potential owners. The rescue vehicle also serves as a mobile veterinary clinic and supports daily wellness check-ups for certain animals. The rescue vehicle also transports pets to local schools and senior centers, and may be seen at local fundraising events. Rafferty Subaru has always been committed to having a positive effect in the community and showing love and respect to others, including our furry friends. Rafferty Subaru is excited to team up with Providence Animal Center, an organization whose work we admire, to find homes for animals in need. Rafferty Subaru hosts quarterly adoption events and has placed dozens of furry friends in forever homes.

  • PACT for Animals Purchases Transport Vehicle at Rafferty Subaru

PACT for Animals is a 501(c) 3 organization that provides foster care for animals when their owners are deployed or dealing with medical emergencies requiring hospital care. Buzz Miller, founder of PACT for Animals, chose to purchase a Subaru from Rafferty Subaru in Newtown Square, PA thanks to a donation earmarked to PACT for an animal transport vehicle. Buzz Miller learned from Major General John Gronski that many soldiers were forced to surrender their pets to area shelters before leaving on deployment. Many in his command were leaving for dangerous areas around the world, volunteering to serve their Country. Sadly, no animal welfare group was available on a volunteer basis to offer foster care for their "best friends" when all other avenues for foster care had fallen through. PACT steps in when there is no other option than to surrender a pet to a shelter. PACT volunteers step up to offer long-term temporary foster care from a month to as long as two years at no charge, opening their hearts and their homes to companion pets. Pets are kept safe until their owner's emergency has passed, and they can be reunited with their families. Visit PACT's website or PACT for Animals on YouTube to watch some reunions and see the variety of ways you can volunteer or foster.

  • Rafferty Subaru Sponsors Run for the Day Marathon

On Saturday, June 23rd, 2018, Rafferty Subaru sponsored the Run for the Day marathon at the Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square, PA.  All proceeds went directly to the Coaches vs. Cancer program of The American Cancer Society. The goal of this event was to celebrate cancer survivors, to remember and honor those we lost, and FIGHT BACK against this illness. Cancer hits too close to home for many people, and Rafferty Subaru helped to fight all kinds of cancer, for everyone, in every community. The Raffertys love to stay involved and give back to their local community. When they heard about the marathon, they immediately decided to sponsor the event. The Heroes vs.Cancer is an offshoot of Coaches vs. Cancer. Norm Stewart, a former head coach of the University of Missouri's men's basketball program, a cancer survivor, and a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), had the initial vision of the concept. Eventually, the idea evolved and soon the Coaches vs. Cancer program was formed, becoming a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the NABC.

  • Rafferty Subaru and Main Line Animal Rescue Host Pet Adoption Events

For the last three years, Rafferty Subaru has worked with Main Line Animal Rescue (MLAR) to bring animals available for adoption or rescued into Rafferty's showroom. MLAR volunteers provide information about the adoption process and how individuals can help MLAR. Donations of food, blankets, and money are always welcome. This past November, when MLAR came to visit, it was a dreary, rainy Saturday morning. The dogs and cats brought in their own sunshine and fun, hoping to find a new "fur"ever home. It was wonderful seeing customers interact with all of the animals. Customers brought in their rescue dogs to visit us too! Animal Planet sent us doggie flashlights, collapsible water bowls, magnets, and doggie litter bags to give away. It was a time for old friends from previous events to reconnect and share amazing stories about their pets (everyone expressed how much the animals love Subaru). Rafferty loves spending time with animals and wonderful volunteers. Please check MILLER's website for all the adorable adoptable animals. Rafferty Subaru was proud to support Providence Animal Center as one of their charities during the "Share The Love" event in the 2018 holiday season from November 15, 2018, to January 2, 2019. To kick-off the "Share The Love" event at Rafferty, the dealership promoted awareness of homeless and abandoned animals by hosting an adoption event at their dealership on November 17, 2018. Rafferty donated all adoption fees for animals adopted on the 17th. During the "Share The Love" event, customers who purchased a new Subaru had the choice of donating to one of the national charities and one of the local area charities selected by Rafferty Subaru. Rafferty has participated annually in "Share The Love" events over the past 10 years. The Subaru dealership won the 2018 Subaru Love Promise Customer and Community Commitment Award and is nationally recognized for their dedication to customers, their community, and to the Subaru Love Promise. As a participating retailer, Rafferty helped donate more than $118 million to charity, with customers choosing between four national foundations and two local foundations. For the past three years, Rafferty chose Providence Animal Center as one of their local charities to donate. The Providence Animal Center offers life-affirming rescue, medical care, treatment, protection and placement of companion animals that forever uphold the critical importance of the human-animal bond. The Center strives to deliver the most optimal, advanced care to our animal friends and their owners.

  • Rafferty Subaru Driving Shelter Dogs in Cars Video Featured on National TV

On Thursday, January 5, 2017, Rafferty Subaru's video, Driving Shelter Dogs in Cars, was featured on an episode of the nationally televised program Right  This Minute. Rafferty Subaru teamed up with our friends at 6 ABC to give adorable pups from Providence Animal Center and Main Line Animal Rescue, who are waiting to find their forever homes, a day to remember. Dogs loves a nice car ride, which is why Rafferty Subaru decided it would be fun to chauffeur shelter dogs around town in a brand new Subaru Outback. Mosby, Daisy, Meggie and few other friends enjoyed a day out on the town in style with the wind in their hair. All of the dogs featured on our Driving Shelter Dogs in Cars series and many more lovable friends are available for adoption at Providence Animal Center and Main Line Animal Rescue. As Our Love Promise to our Local Shelter, we have also had adoption animals here in the Showroom to be Adopted from time to time.
