For 2023, Subaru has revealed that its new Outback has received a facelift.  While maintaining its classic look, the 2023 Subaru Outback sports a redesigned front end and a host of upgrades. While adding a sleeker look to the front end and a plethora of safety and technology improvements, Subaru has kept its highly reputable drivetrain intact. 
 

Is the new Subaru Outback bigger than previous models?

The 2023 Subaru Outback features the same spacious dimensions and clearances as it has in previous years models.  It can clear up to 8.7 inches of obstacles that lay in the road head while the Wilderness model boasts 9.5 inches of clearance.  The Outback’s off-roading design still allows for a low step-in height that enables ease in front and rear passenger entry.  The spacious cabin now features an 11.6-inch multimedia plus system.

What is the difference between the 2022 and 2023 Subaru Outback?

Subaru offers a fresh look to the 2023 Subaru Outback with redesigned front fascia and additional wheel arch cladding. The 2023 Outback also is outfitted with the newest version of EyeSight Driver Assist Technology with a wide-angle mono camera and an updated multimedia system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
 
For 2023, the Outback is available in the Base, Premium, Onyx Edition, Wilderness, Limited Touring, and XT trim levels.  The Onyx Editional has two engine options for 2023.  The Wilderness has improved off-road suspension and while maintaining its on-road handling and comfort.  Subaru has increased the length of the shock absorbers and springs to increase the Wilderness’ ground clearance.

What are the new features of the 2023 Subaru Outback?

  • New Front Design: The 2023 Subaru Outback’s redesigned front-end features new LED headlights and foglights, new front fascia, and a larger grill.  Underneath, the Outback has a new, aerodynamic intake that improves its airflow.     
  • A New Rear Bumper: The 2023 Outback has a new-look rear bumper that features an integrated rear reflector. 
  • New Fender Cladding: The new Outback has a bolder-look cladding around the wheel arches that adds great protection. 
  • Upgraded Infotainment System: The 2023 Subaru Outback features upgrades that now support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.  Interior comfort amenities are now controlled via the large touchscreen. 
  • Upgraded EyeSight: The 2023 Outback is equipped with the latest version of the EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. New this year to EyeSight is Automatic Emergency Steering that works in conjunction with pre-collision braking support.
  • Electronic Brake Booster: The new Outback now combines its new electronic brake booster with its EyeSight technology for great improvement in automatic and emergency braking.
  • Rear Seat Pockets: The 2023 Subaru Outback now has divided rear seat pockets that will accommodate electronic devices and a variety of other items. 
  • Illuminated USB Plug: The 2023 Outback now features illuminated USB-C input/charge port, USB-A port, and 3.5 mm auxiliary input jack in the front console, while the rear of the center console now has the illuminated USB-A and USB-C ports as well.

  • Smart Rearview Mirror: The Outback Touring and XT trims sport the new smart rearview mirror.  The system has a rooftop-mounted camera that streams a video feed to the rearview mirror.
  • New Colors: The latest Outback models feature two new colors: Dark Mahogany Pearl, and Cosmic Blue Pearl.
