When is the Best Time to Take a Fall Road Trip?

One thing to keep in mind as you hop into your Subaru to see the beauty of the season is timing your fall road trip to catch the leaves at their most colorful peak.  For peak fall foliage, the weather needs to be sunny and warm during the day and cool at night. The most vibrant colors should arrive somewhere between October 21st and 28th. Don’t wait too long, but you may still be able to see some colorful leaves as late as mid-November if you can’t schedule your fall road trip before then.  If you have some flexibility, try picking the middle of the week for looking at fall foliage to avoid the crowds and the traffic.  Also, for better views and less traffic, try to stick to secondary roads and country lanes running parallel to highways.
