Rafferty Subaru is proud to be a participant in the Driving Away the Cold program through the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation. The Rafferty family will be teaming up with local dealers to provide needy children in our community with warm coats for the winter. For every vehicle we sell during the month of September, one coat will be donated to a child in need.
In Philadelphia, one in every six children lives below the poverty line. These children rely on community support for basic necessities like food, shelter, and warm clothing.
Last year, the Program was able to make a direct impact on the lives of over 31,000 local children. This year, we're on track to beat last year's record - we hope that between all of the participating dealerships, we will be able to provide more than 37,000 children with warm coats.
The Program works through local YMCA's, homeless shelters, school districts, and local non-profits to deliver the coats. Since its inception in 2008, it has given coats to almost 150,000 needy children in our area.
