The Rafferty family is an expansive one. Of course it consists of Bob, Jillian, and all of us here at the dealership, but it also includes our friends, neighbors, and everyone who walks through the doors of our dealership. We care about our customers and we always treat them as part of the Rafferty family. And families always look out for each other.

As most of us know October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Did you remember to wear your pink? More importantly, did you remember to set up your appointment to be screened? It is the most common cancer in woman (besides skin cancer) in the United States. Early detection is the best way to be able to have successful treatments. There is a very good chance that each of us knows someone who has battled this disease. Many have won. Some have lost but there is much to learn from them.

One of the most important lessons is that you can make healthy lifestyle choices to improve your chances of not developing breast cancer.  Eating a healthy diet, reducing alcohol intake and getting regular physical activity all decrease a woman’s risk.  The other lesson is we have learned that if a woman gets mammograms and regular breast exams the cancer can be found early when it is most curable.

The American Cancer Society website has very important information that can be extremely informative.  Remember to talk to wives, girlfriends, mothers and friends to make sure that they are following up.
