For lower-voltage chargers, the new 2023 Subaru Solterra can be charged in twice that time at 120 volts. With a 100-kW DC fast-charger, roughly 80% charge on the battery can be achieved in just under an hour. Although the vehicle comes standard with a level 1 charger that fits any standard 120 volt outlet, you can also upgrade to a 240 volt level 2 charger that can be installed in your home. Given the long range of the Solterra and its ability to tackle adverse terrain with its all-wheel drive, drivers can rest assured that the Solterra will get them there and back without the need to stop and refuel.

When engaged in all-wheel drive and set on standard driving mode, the new 2023 Subaru Solterra has an extensive driving range at 228 EPA estimated miles on a single charge. As previously mentioned, the Solterra comes standard with a 120 volt level 1 charger, meaning that you can charge on the go for extended road trips. However, the continued expansion of electric vehicles means that higher level chargers are becoming more abundant, meaning that you can extend the Solterra's driving range after the first charge is gone. |
Is the 2023 Subaru Solterra bigger than the Forester?
Although many of the mechanical pieces between the Forester and 2023 Subaru Solterra are identical, the Solterra offers a larger alternative to many Subaru vehicles. The new 2023 Solterra offers an additional two inches of length, an inch of width, and a roof that is closer to the ground by four inches. On top of that, it also offers an extra 7.3 inches of additional wheelbase. All of these factor in a much more roomy, comfortable experience than that of the Forester or other Subaru models. In addition, this means that Subaru was able to include more plush, roomy seats into the cabin, further ensuring that you and your passengers are extremely comfortable during your trips.
How does the 2023 Subaru Solterra Perform in Terms of Power and Performance?
Despite having an all-electric engine, the power and performance of the new 2023 Subaru Solterra is nothing to scoff at. Using two electric motors, the Solterra provides power to both axles, achieving a combined 215 horsepower and 249 pound-feet of torque using all-wheel drive. This gives the car good acceleration and a quick response time to any potential hazards, especially given Subaru's excellent driver-assistance technologies. The new 2023 Subaru Solterra also offers excellent performance as well. Depending on the road conditions, the Solterra offers four different drive modes that are intended to help in difficult areas and rough terrain by controlling how much power and torque goes to each individual wheel. The Solterra also functions well as an off-road vehicle with its 8.3 inches of ground clearance and slip-control features.
