Subaru has announced a redesigned WRX for 2022. The WRX is a performance four-door sedan inspired by rally cars, and Subaru's 2022 model promises even better performance than the original rally-inspired compact. Subaru engineers drew on years of experience to fine tune the performance features under the hood and to shape the sporty exterior design of the WRX. From its dramatically flared fenders, menacing front grille, and athletic stance, the 2022 Subaru WRX wears its rally heritage proudly.

Some of the new features of the 2022 Subaru WRX are a larger turbo-4 engine, a revised CVT with quicker shifts, an all-new D-shaped steering wheel, updated track-tuned suspension, and a new GT model with adaptive dampers. Upgraded, retuned suspension pushes the WRX's precise handling even further than before. Cornering, steering balance, and stability are upgraded thanks to improved dampers, a stiffer chassis, and high-performance summer tires. The all-new WRX GT model for 2022 takes the original's uncompromising performance and takes it to new heights. Drive Mode Select and electronically adjustable dampers allow the driver to transition between a sports car and touring car with the push of a button. Recaro seats provide comfort and support, holding you in place while navigating tight corners and curves. |
The New 2022 WRX's 2.4-Liter SUBARU BOXER Engine
The 2022 Subaru WRX features a 2.4-liter direct injection turbocharged Subaru Boxer Engine. This latest iteration of the Boxer engine produces 271 horsepower, features a twin scroll turbocharger with an electronic wastegate, and 258 pound-feet of torque with a broad, flat power band. Subaru's 2022 WRX achieves 20/27mpg (city/highway).
2022 Subaru WRX's Quick-Shifting Manual Transmission
The 2022 Subaru WRX gives you total control over your performance with a quick-shifting 6-speed manual transmission, standard at all trim levels. Also available is the all-new Subaru Performance Transmission with Paddle Shifters, which combines manual fingertip paddle shifting and an 8-speed manual mode. Subaru's Performance Transmission features automatic downshift blip control, 30% faster upshifts and 50% faster downshifts, offering a quicker and smarter response to driver input.

The 2022 Subaru WRX is designed to maintain traction on all surfaces, performing at high speeds on straight roads and tight curves. Subaru's 2022 model of the WRX has recorded a 0-60mph time of 5.6 seconds and a quarter mile time of 14.0 seconds at 98.7mph. Bigger pistons and an improved turbo system with an electronically controlled wastegate and air bypass valves makes the Subaru Boxer Engine in the 2022 WRX more responsive and provides a broader torque curve. The top speed of a WRX is 155mph, and 174mph at the STI trim level.
