Subaru has announced a redesigned model of the BRZ for 2022 that prioritizes lightweight agility in a pure sports car design at an affordable price. The 2022 Subaru BRZ is the first in a new generation of Subaru's compact sports cars, with a slightly longer span and lower height than previous models, as well as more distinct bodywork. The interior of the 2022 BRZ has been reimagined with the Subaru Starlink system serving as a control center for entertainment, navigation, safety features, and more. A 2.4-liter direct injection Subaru Boxer engine provides 228 horsepower, which is more than the standard power on competing models.

The upgraded engine in the 2022 Subaru BRZ brings torque up to 184 lb-ft from 156 lb-ft on previous models, allowing it to achieve 0-60mph in 5.8-7.0 seconds. It has also recorded quarter-mile times between 14.3-15.3 seconds, and a top speed of 140mph. The 2022 BRZ comes standard with rear-wheel drive and a 6-speed manual transmission, but a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters is optional for an additional $1,600. |
